Shutting down Parent Image with App Volumes Agent

Best practice is to do the following command before we shutdown the parent image and start provisioning desktops.

ipconfig /release

shutdown /s /t 0

After you have done this, you will get stuck in this screen for a very long time...and I mean veryyyyyyy lonnnngggg.

Why? Because you have App Volumes agent installed. When you do a ipconfig /release, the agent lost is communication with App Volumes Manager and the agent will try to re-establish communication.

To avoid this, before you perform ipconfig /release, stop the App Volumes agent services first.

After the service has stopped, you can now go ahead to release the IP adderess and shutdown the Windows. You will see now the Windows 10 shutdown is sooooo much faster! :-)
